Westbourne Academy are looking to appoint a motivated, independent, and hardworking individual to fill the post of Assistant Head of Year. This is a non‑teaching role. The successful candidate must demonstrate a proactive interest in education and a desire to support the school in achieving the best possible outcomes for all students.
The purpose of this role is to enable every student to fulfil their potential as individual learners, effective citizens and well‑rounded individuals. The Assistant Head of Year will lead a team of tutors and influence all staff, as well as parents/carers and all stakeholders, in raising aspiration and improving outcomes for all.
The ideal candidate will have a good basic education to GCSE level (to include English and Maths), have completed relevant courses such as coaching/mentoring/study support and previously worked with young people.
We welcome applications from candidates with the ability to work on their own initiative with previous experience in a similar environment who are keen to make a difference.
