Introduction
To assist the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day activities, running and checking maintenance of the building and its assets to ensure the premises are safe, fit for purpose, and in line with the organisation’s needs.

Main Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure, and set up to standard.
- Conduct health and safety checks on and off board of staff members.
- Ensure new starters have desk allocation and all requirements to complete their duties.
- Ensure all items of a staff member leaving are returned on their last day of service.
- Keep the asset register and staff allocation documents up to date.
- Liaise with delivery personnel to ensure all deliveries are collected, inventoried, and placed securely.
- Move and assemble furniture.
- Coordinate campus events.
- Conduct basic handyperson services such as fixing classroom/staff room equipment and other DIY tasks such as painting, lock replacement/repair, whiteboard and soft board installation along with blinds etc.
- Handle heavy loads in a safe manner (manual handling training will be provided).
- Monitor stock levels of office equipment and furniture and replenish as required.
- Manage store – monitor stock levels and order consumables for storerooms such as cleaning and refreshments.
- Act in front of the house and greet students, visitors, and staff in a professional manner.

Course Information
Course: Facilities Services Operative (Level 2) – Level: 2 – Route: Construction and the built environment – Apprenticeship Level: Intermediate.
Working Arrangements
Working week: Monday to Friday. Hours to be confirmed. Expected duration: 1 Year 3 Months. Training provider: GLP Training Ltd.
