Merton College – one of the oldest and most vibrant Oxford University colleges – is seeking a highly organised, proactive and empathetic Student Support Administrator to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of the student community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Head of Welfare, Academic Registrar, Senior Tutor and Chaplain.
- Contributing to the smooth running of the College’s welfare provision.
- Coordinating the work of the Welfare Team.
- Organising and supporting student wellbeing events and activities.
- Administering financial support schemes that help students thrive.
- Servicing welfare-related committees.
- Maintaining accurate records and systems.
- Assisting with safeguarding processes.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong administrative ability with tact, discretion, attention to detail, and a warm, approachable manner.
- Highly organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working with confidential information.
- An excellent communicator, both in writing and in person.
- Empathetic, approachable and sensitive to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
- Confident using IT systems and willing to learn new applications.
- Membership of the OSPS pension scheme.

Salary: £34,000 – £37,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
