MOT Tester

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable, well-established automotive business based in Harlow, Essex, who are looking to appoint a qualified MOT Tester to join their growing team.

The Role

As an MOT Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. You will utilise your technical expertise and attention to detail to carry out inspections and identify faults, helping to keep vehicles safe and compliant on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests in line with DVSA (VOSA) standards and government regulations
• Perform thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions requirements
• Identify, diagnose, and report any defects or issues
• Accurately complete all relevant documentation and reports
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
• Support with general servicing, repairs, and maintenance when required

Requirements

• Valid Class 4 MOT Tester licence (essential)
• Proven experience as an MOT Tester and/or Vehicle Mechanic (minimum 3 years)
• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify safety-critical issues
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Ability to undertake physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
• Saturdays: 8:30am – 1:00pm (1 in 2 rota)
• Average: 42.5 hours per week
