Division Overview
Commercial & Industrial: Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. Three sites in Dalton, Lostock and Enniskillen each provide full‑service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes to deliver a high‑quality product across the UK and Europe, continually setting the bar high in their highly complex market.
Nuclear & Infrastructure: Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in specialist, highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy. We provide award‑winning design teams, state‑of‑the‑art software and Tekla detailing to offer customers value engineering, blending proven success with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to deliver a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market.
Modular Solutions: Severfield Modular Solutions offers a market‑leading suite of products including an expanding range of modular solutions such as ‘Severstor’ units and ‘Rotoflo’ technology. From our Sherburn facility, we provide a one‑stop shop for steel products and processing services, addressing smaller scale projects and consistently setting the bar high in this niche market.
Vacancy Details
In the Quantity Surveyor position you will play a key role in supporting the Quantity Surveying department, ensuring that the commercial and contractual aspects of complex projects are effectively managed and controlled to meet business demands.
Other Responsibilities
- Providing expert guidance on all commercial aspects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing and submitting monthly interim valuations to maintain positive cash flow.
- Managing the financial aspects of subcontract packages, including steel erection, cladding, and metal decking.
- Overseeing cost control, value reporting, and cash flow forecasting to keep projects on track.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar.
- Strong contractual knowledge and a solid understanding of commercial project management.
- Experience handling complex projects is highly desirable.
- A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with excellent cost management skills.
