We are looking for a full-time Deputy Operational Manager to join us in Holgate Primary Care Network (PCN).

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Primary Care Operational Manager supports the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient primary care services. Working closely with the Primary Care Operational Manager, the postholder assists in the day-to-day operational management of services, ensuring organisational objectives, quality standards, and performance targets are achieved.

The role involves supporting workforce management, service improvement, governance, patient experience, and performance management while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams.

About us

Holgate Primary Care Network (PCN) consists of the following 3 practices in the Middlesbrough area. Linthorpe Surgery, Borough Road & Nunthorpe Medical Group & Village Medical Centre. Two of our practices are well-established training practices with excellent GP Support. We have a highly skilled & varied PCN team consisting of many roles such as Mental Health Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Care Home Practitioners, Social Prescribers, Safeguarding Lead etc alongside a supportive management and care coordinator team.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Operational Manager to join our existing team. The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to our Senior and Operational Manager. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, highly motivated & who will contribute to our provision of high quality, patient centred care.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Supervision of Care Co-ordinators

Induction and training of new members to the team

Monitor holidays and sickness records of care co-ordinators

Carry out regular supervisory sessions with care co-ordinators – offer support and training.

Carry out annual appraisal

Oversee and lead on a variety of workstreams, including:

Population Health Management

Learning Disabilities

Cancer Care Reviews

Dementia

Covid and Flu vaccination programme

HR:

Ensure all PCN staff have an up to date and standardised job description

Utilise and update Teamsnet – focusing on the library function and ensuring information is shared to PCN staff members

Ensure all PCN staff are up to date with mandatory training

Assist operational manager with PCN policies

Other Responsibilities:

Using GPsystems (System One) to identify and record patient information

Any other duties as requested by the Senior Manager, Operational Manager or Clinical Director

Networking and developing and maintaining relationships with varied workforces

Admin meetings with practice – maintain relationships with practices and promote communication

Stationary order and requisitions

Leisure with IG lead to ensure correct coding and data entry

Leisure with safeguarding lead

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience of working in a NHS setting
  • Experience of working in a team leader role
  • Experience of working in primary care or a primary care network
  • Experience of SystmOne
  • Experience in Rota Management

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Leadership and / or Management Qualification
