From a single app, our users can receive, move, hold, spend, send, and invest across 150+ countries and 40+ currencies: get paid in foreign currencies using their own account details, convert at the real exchange rate, invest in US stocks, and spend anywhere with a Morse Visa card. We’re built by engineers and builders from Monzo, Square, Cash App, and more, with a strategic focus on Mexico and the Americas.
The Engagement
- 6-month contract, full-time.
- London-based, with 2 days a week expected in our Shoreditch office.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join our small, experienced, and highly collaborative team on a contract basis. We want someone who is product-oriented and cares about how people will use and interact with the software they’re building.
You’ll play a hands‑on role in building and shaping our product and infrastructure. We’re looking for an engineer who cares about people, quality and who likes to move fast.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and ship new features for the Morse iOS app, working across the UI and platform stack.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to craft a great user experience from concept through launch.
- Optimize the app’s performance and reliability across a broad range of iOS devices, ensuring a smooth experience even on entry‑level hardware.
- Improve and maintain core systems related to security and blockchain (Solana) integration.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and iterative improvements to keep the codebase high‑quality and scalable as we grow.
Tech stack
- The app is written in Swift 5 and Swift UI + UI Kit.
- We use Apollo and GraphQL.
What we’re looking for
- You’re an experienced engineer who has built high‑quality consumer iOS apps at scale.
- You have a drive to build for millions of people, from the ground up.
- You’re a good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity, both technically and organizationally. You’re happy to tackle problems without a clear definition or solution.
- You enjoy owning problems end‑to‑end, from early exploration through to releasing things to customers.
- You’re able to ramp up quickly and work independently within an existing codebase and team, with minimal onboarding.
- You like to share your work early and you’re happy to put something out there when it’s ~70% done.
Bonus points
- Experience in fintech or the payments industry.
- Familiarity with GraphQL and the Solana blockchain (or other blockchain technologies).
- An eye for smooth, delightful animations and UI polish.
