Job Title: Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist

Location: Guy’s & St. Thomas’ South‑East London Cancer Centre. Full‑time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist gynaecological oncology services across Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites.
  • Deliver a range of programmed activities: approximately 10 per week, including oncology theatres, rapid access diagnostic and cancer clinics, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Participate in on‑call duties (mid‑week and weekend rota).
  • Teach and train under‑graduates, post‑graduates and junior staff.
  • Manage audit, governance, quality targets (CNST, CQIN, KC65) and service improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and conduct research, contribute to clinical trials and pursue higher research degrees where applicable.
  • Provide administrative oversight and coordinate with Patient Pathway Coordinators.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Full registration with the GMC, licence to practise, and eligibility to enter the specialist register within six months.
  • RCOG Accredited Sub‑Specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology and Clinical core training in obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to UK CCT.
  • MRCOG‑III or equivalent specialist qualification.
  • Experience in advanced robotic surgery for gynaecological oncology, benign laparoscopic and complex gynaecological surgery, and ultra‑radical oncologic procedures.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic procedures: outpatient operative hysteroscopy, LLETZ, cervical and vulval biopsy.
  • Experience managing two‑week‑wait cancer diagnostic clinics and outpatient ambulatory diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy.
  • Post‑graduate qualifications such as MD, PhD, MS, MSc in gynaecology.

The Department offers a comprehensive tertiary surgical, clinical and medical oncology service for women with gynaecological malignancies across South East London.
