Imaging Assistant
Location: New Victoria Hospital, Kingston upon Thames, KT2 7EG
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hrs) – Monday to Saturday shifts
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum + fantastic benefits
About the role
As an Imaging Assistant at New Victoria Hospital, you will work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers and multidisciplinary teams to support the day‑to‑day running of the Imaging Department. Your responsibilities will include both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring a seamless patient journey and a safe, efficient, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily running of the Imaging Department across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X‑Ray and Interventional Imaging services.
- Prepare imaging rooms, equipment and patient lists to facilitate efficient clinics and procedures.
- Welcome, prepare and support patients throughout their imaging appointments, delivering an outstanding patient experience.
- Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during imaging procedures and clinics.
- Carry out and record patient observations and support with clinical tasks, including safety screening.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, cleanliness, health and safety, and protect patient confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support where required and contribute to continuous improvement of departmental services.
- Work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience carrying out basic nursing or clinical support tasks.
- At least one year’s experience working within a healthcare, hospital or similar clinical environment.
- Understanding of medical interventions and patient care practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible, organised and able to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive, professional and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
- Previous Imaging Department experience and knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations would be advantageous.
