Band 2 Patient Transport Driver – Windsor Dialysis Unit
This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week. A Fringe payment of 5% (£1,346) of gross basic salary. The post is based at Windsor Dialysis, 1 Maidenhead Road, Old Ambulance Station, Windsor, SL4 5EY.
The unit is a 24 bedded satellite unit of the Royal Berkshire Hospital Foundation Trust. It operates Monday to Saturday with no night duty. Candidates will cover all three shifts, which run from 06.00 till 12.30 midnight.
Responsibilities
- Drive vehicles to transport the users of the Trust’s Haemodialysis Satellite Unit in Windsor safely to and from their place of residence.
- Follow pre‑determined schedules and organise routes as appropriate to transport patients safely and efficiently.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance, patient comfort and compliance with the Road Traffic Act and DVLA regulations.
- Undertake Trust induction and mandatory driver‑related training.
Qualifications
- Must have a C1 licence.
- Previous driving experience around the local area is essential.
- Inability to drive vehicles safely and professionally will disqualify the candidate.
