Responsibilities
- Assist patients in preparation for, and while undergoing, routine and specialised radiographic examinations. Establish and maintain a good communication channel with patients to support patient confidence.
- Observe and care for patients while waiting for examinations and communicate any concerns to trained staff as appropriate.
- Check patient identification and documentation in accordance with departmental protocols and clinical requests.
- Assist radiologists, radiographers and nurses in performing examinations, attending to patients’ welfare at all times.
- Support service delivery to co‑ordinate workflow and support facilities within specialised areas.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times. Clean and perform routine operational maintenance on equipment as required, participating in the departmental Quality Assurance programme.
