Job Description:

We are currently seeking an HR Assistant to join a well-established financial services organisation in Shrewsbury on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offering a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Working as part of a supportive HR team, you will play a key role in delivering efficient HR administration, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies, and supporting a positive employee experience across the business.

Key Duties:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing professional guidance to employees and managers while supporting performance reviews, probation processes, wellbeing initiatives and CSR activities
  • Supporting end-to-end recruitment activities, including vacancy advertising, CV screening, interview coordination, reference checking and onboarding of new employees
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring data integrity, compliance and effective HR administration
  • Preparing employment documentation, including contracts, offer letters and policy updates, supporting a positive employee experience
  • Administering absence management, holiday tracking and HRIS processes, providing timely support to employees and managers
  • Coordinating learning and development initiatives, supporting trainee programmes, CPD tracking and the delivery of internal training opportunities

Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar role
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is advantageous
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards) is desirable
