Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator, Band 2, to work within the Diabetes and Endocrine department at Ipswich Hospital. The post will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The shifts will alternate weekly: Shift 1 – 8:00am to 4:00pm and Shift 2 – 9:00am to 5:00pm (on a Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm).

Responsibilities

  • Act as a valuable member of the administration team, assisting with the smooth running of the department.
  • Cover all reception duties and ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely, efficient manner, including support for the Diabetic Foot Clinic where required.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the public and various levels of staff, both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
  • Provide an efficient and courteous service to all patients visiting or contacting the Centre.
  • Ensure clinics are booked efficiently to maximise capacity.
  • Support the Clinical and Administrative Teams within the Diabetes Centre, providing flexible coverage for the Diabetic Foot Clinic.
  • Deliver a friendly, efficient and patient‑focused reception service at the Diabetes Centre and the Diabetic Foot Clinic.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously in accordance with Trust guidelines.
  • Remain flexible in daily duties, providing cover during colleagues’ absences.
  • Assist in training new members of staff as required.
