About The Team
You’ll join a supportive front door adult social care team covering Bath and North East Somerset and working with adults with a range of needs to promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes. The team values collaborative, strengths-based practice and reflective working, with regular supervision and peer support. About The Role
As a Social Worker within Adult Social Care, you will play a key role in supporting adults to live as independently as possible, promoting wellbeing, safety and positive outcomes through strengths-based practice.
Role
- ASYE Social Workers will manage a supported and protected caseload, working under close supervision to build confidence, skills and professional judgement, in line with the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment framework.
- Qualified Social Workers will independently manage a varied and sometimes complex caseload, applying professional expertise and making informed decisions within a multi-agency environment.
Across both levels, you will work within a strong legislative framework, supporting individuals, families and carers through assessment, planning and review, while contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated, thoughtful and compassionate Social Worker who is committed to supporting adults to live independently and achieve positive outcomes.
You Will

- Demonstrate an understanding of risk, safeguarding and professional responsibility, with the ability to seek guidance where appropriate
- Be able to build effective relationships with individuals, families, carers and professionals

- Be organised and able to manage a caseload appropriate to your experience, with support where needed
For experienced Social Workers, you will also be confident in
- Working more autonomously, making informed, evidence-based decisions
- Managing complex situations and higher levels of risk
- Contributing to a multi-agency environment and supporting others where appropriate
For ASYE Social Workers, you will be supported to
- Develop your confidence in assessment, decision-making and care planning
- Build your skills through structured supervision and a protected caseload
You’ll Need
- A Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification recognised by Social Work England)
- Registration with Social Work England (or working towards this for ASYE candidates)
- Experience (through placement or practice) of working with adults with a range of needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities or mental health needs
- Knowledge of key legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding duties
- Ability to undertake or contribute to assessments, care planning and reviews
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work sensitively with individuals and families
- Confidence in working collaboratively with partners, including health colleagues and care providers
- Ability to manage competing demands and prioritise workload, with appropriate support
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
