Senior Social Worker – Mental Health and Substance Use
Location: Southeast localities (Edinburgh)
Salary: £47,639 – £56,392 per annum. Hours: 36 per week.
Overview
The Edinburgh City Health & Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) is transforming social work services, supporting individuals with complex mental health and/or substance use needs in a trauma-informed, person-centred, recovery-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Line manage a small team of social workers and Clinical Care Assistants, ensuring consistent high-quality support across the four city areas.
- Collaborate with health and partner agencies to develop and review care plans, helping clients remain safe and work toward recovery goals.
- Provide cover and support to colleagues in other areas, fostering consistency and shared learning.
- Lead the development and improvement of the service within the Adult With Incapacity and Adult Support and Protection framework.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Social Worker with experience in Mental Health and Substance Use Services.
- Knowledge of Adult With Incapacity and Adult Support and Protection legislation.
- Experience managing a multidisciplinary team and working with complex cases.
- Desirable: MHO, Practice Educator, ASP qualifications.
Additional Requirements
- Regulated work with vulnerabilities: must join or update the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 scheme.
- Where continuous period of 3+ months out of the UK in last 5 years: must provide Overseas Criminal Record Check.
