Job Description

As a Cycle Technician you will maintain our reputation for quality products and service, sharing our passion for cycling and helping every customer enjoy the ride. You will be comfortable fixing bicycles and engaging with customers, and you must be process‑driven, completing repairs to an exceptional standard within set timeframes.
Responsibilities
- Manage all levels of services and repairs safely, correctly and within agreed targets.
- Assess and process warranty claims.
- Provide advice and recommendations that help the customer find the right products and services to suit their needs and budget.
- Inspect bikes prior to build, ensuring no faults or damage, reporting as necessary; assemble and set up bikes safely within agreed build targets.
- Apply frame protectors, stickers, bells and reflectors.
- Complete safety checklist paperwork.
- Ensure the bike pack is supplied correctly.
- Update order status on the system upon completion of the build.
- Undertake safety checks and fit accessories to customer bikes.
- Book servicing and repairs for customers.
- Minimise stock loss through vigilance and adherence to security procedures.
- Process transactions on the till system.
- Support shop floor tasks as needed, without impacting workshop workload.
- Find proactive solutions to customer complaints and queries, escalating to management when necessary.
- Drive key KPIs within the workshop using your skills and knowledge.
- Maintain cleanliness, tidiness and organisation of the workshop and all other store areas.
- Prioritise health and safety for yourself, colleagues and customers, complying with all procedures in store.
- Perform any other reasonable duties to ensure effective running of the store and workshop.

Job Details
Full‑time hours: 37.5 hours a week | Part‑time: up to 30 hours a week | Days: Tuesday to Saturday.
Expected start date: ASAP | Job types: Full‑time or Part‑time, Permanent.
Salary: £27,491.10 to £31,418.40 per year depending on experience (pro‑rata for part‑time). The salary listed applies to candidates over the age of 21; for those under 21 a lower rate will be offered in accordance with Minimum Wage rates.
Skills / Experience Required
- Good level of technical bike knowledge / bike mechanics.
- Cytech Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
- Good level of product knowledge or willingness to gain and keep it up to date.
