We are looking for a proactive Resident & Business Engagement Coordinator to manage how we engage, inform, and support communities and businesses along the race route. This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure that those affected by the event feel informed, supported, and able to benefit from the opportunities it brings.

About The Role

You will manage the design and delivery of a comprehensive engagement programme for residents and businesses, ensuring:

  • Clear, timely, and accessible communication
  • Effective management of road closure access arrangements
  • Strong community relationships before and during the event
  • Opportunities for local businesses to maximise economic benefits and engage with the Tour de France

You’ll work at the heart of a multi‑disciplinary project team, collaborating with highways, communications, event management, partner organisations and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take an important role in the development and delivery of a Resident & Business Engagement Plan as part of the wider Event Management Plan.
  • Manage the Resident and Business Working Group, ensuring progress and delivery against key milestones.
  • Coordinate engagement activity including community briefings, workshops and targeted visits.
  • Work with Highways and Transport teams to support communications on road closures and access arrangements, in order to manage the impact of the events on businesses and residents across Cumberland.
  • Produce and coordinate clear communications across web, print, and social media.
  • Design solutions for residents and businesses to maintain access during the event.
  • Support event control operations and ensure engagement activity aligns with live event delivery.
  • Create resources to help local businesses maximise Tour‑related opportunities.
