Role Description

Operates, cleans, works to hygiene standards, and carries out basic maintenance of manufacturing or packing equipment (e.g., Steriliser, seamer, filler, or packer) for the manufacture, processing, or packing of food in cans/pouches. To work to agreed performance standards, OEE, Process safety, food hygiene, quality, good manufacturing practices and with due regard for the health and safety of themselves and others around them.

The person will form part of a team, having a responsibility for the delivery of planned production through production/packing line.

Key challenges faced will be to ensure process safety, material supply, changeovers, line faults and breakdowns do not impact on overall line performance (OEE). Focus will always be required to achieve measurable targets and KPIs (OEE, UL, RFT).

  • Flexibility to be moved or trained across the site and to utilise skills in other departments.
  • Ensures operation of equipment and work practices as trained when required.
  • Effective cleaning of lines and equipment to required standards.
  • Receptive to or participates in training for other lines or processes.
  • Supports and trains new team members on lines or processes you are competent in performing.

Role Requirements

Experience within a food-processing environment and understanding of hygiene standards would be desirable but not essential.

Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
