Role Description
The Assistant Manager is a part-time, on-site role based at the Moda in Pelle store in Sheffield. This role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, including supervising the team, coordinating schedules, and ensuring excellent customer service on the shop floor. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales by leading by example, maintaining visual merchandising standards, monitoring stock levels, and supporting promotional activities. Responsibilities also include handling customer inquiries and issues, assisting with training and development of store colleagues, and upholding company policies and brand values. The role involves regular collaboration with the wider retail and head office teams to meet performance targets and deliver a consistent brand experience.
Qualifications
- Retail operations and leadership skills, including experience supervising teams, managing shifts, and supporting store performance.
- Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, handle inquiries and complaints, and create a positive in-store experience.
- Sales and merchandising skills, including understanding of retail KPIs, upselling, cross‑selling, and maintaining visual and stock presentation standards.
- Organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and respond calmly to changing store demands.
- Basic numeracy and IT skills, including using point‑of‑sale systems, handling cash, and completing simple reports or stock checks.
- Previous experience in fashion, footwear, or accessories retail is highly beneficial, especially in a supervisory or key‑holder position.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak trading periods, and to stand for extended periods in a busy store environment.
