An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant – Reception/Admin Support based at the Northern centre for Cancer care – North Cumbria, Carlisle

Working on one of the 2 Receptions with NCCC-NC.

Hospital site Carlisle.

Main duties of the job

  • Deal with telephone enquiries promptly.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments/transport bookings.
  • Make Oncology Review Appointments for patients leaving Oncology Outpatients.
  • Issue concessionary parking permits.
  • Liaise with NCIC estates on issue contractors passes & keys and parking permits.
  • Work within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient Administrative support service to the wider Oncology team in NCCC-NC.
  • Upload into Patient Record system – E-record.
  • Archiving.

Qualifications & Education

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level A – C, including English Language, or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience.
  • OCR I or NVQ L2 Business & Administration or equivalent qualification / experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Understanding of medical terminology.

Skills & Abilities

  • Good IT skills to include office software packages.
  • Good keyboard skills and Text Processing ability.
  • Good communication skills both written verbal and telephone skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality issues.
