Clinical Fellow with Special Interest in Med Education

Overview

This unique development opportunity is for doctors at Resident Doctor non‑training grade. It combines in‑hours clinical work in community hospitals with the chance to obtain a funded Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PG Cert Med Ed) from the University of Leicester.

Responsibilities

• Daily medical cover for step‑down rehabilitation patients in community hospital settings.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) framework to optimise patient outcomes.
• Escalate clinical concerns to the ward consultant as required.
• Participate in bi‑weekly consultant or GP‑led ward rounds.

Medical Education Responsibilities

• Complete an optional one‑session (am/pm) per week dedicated to the PG Cert programme.
• Support the learning needs of undergraduate medical and nursing students during placement.
• Engage in formal and informal teaching sessions.
