Location & Compensation

Hexham. A valid full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential. Hours: up to 10 hours per week on a rota basis that includes mornings, evenings, alternate weekends and some bank holidays, anytime between 7am and 10pm. Hourly rate: £12.85 per hour plus expenses. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.

About the Role

Mobile Domestic Assistant with McCarthy & Stone, delivering domestic services and independent living support in our purpose‑built developments. Works closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to provide bespoke domestic and lifestyle services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain communal areas to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment.
  • Provide domestic support: cleaning, shopping, laundry, and other household tasks.
  • Offer social support: transport arrangements, attending appointments, and enhancing overall well‑being and social connections.
  • Assist individual homeowners with daily activities, personal hygiene and medication assistance.
  • Travel between developments as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous domestic or housekeeping experience preferred, but not essential; full training provided.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and effective time‑management.
  • Valid full UK driving licence and own car for travel between developments.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including early mornings, late evenings, alternate weekends and some bank holidays.
