We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Painter/Decorator in HMP Wymott, Ulnes Walton, Leyland, Preston, Lancashire, PR26 8LW.

The base salary is £28,792 – £33,532.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between 08:00 – 17:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

What you will do

  • Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
  • Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
  • Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
  • Guiding and supporting prisoners in Painting and Decorating as part of Amey’s CRED programme.

What you will bring

  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Sharing best practice with others.
  • NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating; we will consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
  • Previous relevant work‑related experience.
  • Prison Security Clearance including standard DBS will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
