Relief Security Officer

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer in Uttoxeter to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern when opportunities arise.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carry out regular patrols, and record these as per Corps and customer requirements.
• Ensure visitors and contractors are briefed, sign in and out of the site, and record the entry and exit of deliveries in line with site quality procedures.
• Carry out patrols to the correct standards and set/unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours provision if applicable.
• Comply with site waste management procedures, and complete required documents such as the daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records, and any site‑specific reports.
• Familiarise yourself with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise the Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
• Maintain training records via the Corps Colleague Portal to keep skills up to date, particularly first aid and fire marshal training in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Continuously apply SIA skills, maintain a high level of professionalism, and always display your SIA licence.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed and display excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence – essential.
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g., Excel).
• Ability to achieve a DBS and vetting to BS7858 standards.
• Flexibility to cover days, nights, and weekends with varying hours per week.
