SEND Teaching assistant- B73

Overview

The specialist school in Birmingham is looking for a strong and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant (Level2 or Level3) to join on a 4 days per week basis. The position involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), Attention‑Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The successful candidate will be experienced, proactive, with strong behaviour‑management skills and confident providing personal care.

Responsibilities

• Support and care for pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
• Provide personal care and manage challenging behaviours.
• Assist pupils with a range of complex additional needs.
• Deliver hands‑on support with patience, confidence and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Level2 or Level3 teaching assistant qualification.
• Previous experience in a SEND school.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and SLD.
• Confidence in providing personal care.
• Strong behaviour‑management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one at personal cost.

Additional Information

No training will be provided. Applicants must already have relevant SEND experience and be able to hit the ground running. Placements are subject to appropriate child‑protection screening, including checks with former employers and Disclosure and Barring Checks.
