Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter (C+E)

As a Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter (C+E) you will join a leading global logistics company on a temporary‑to‑permanent contract. The role involves shunting trailers and completing driving duties across the site.

Pay & Hours

• Hourly pay: £15.91
• Shift allowance: £116.57 weekly for afternoon shift
• Overtime after 38 hours: £19.12 per hour
• Shifts: Monday‑Thursday 2:30p.m.‑10:30p.m.; Friday 1:45p.m.‑8:30p.m.
• Location: Ferrybridge

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 12 months
• Previous shunting or yard driving experience
• Maximum 6 licence points
• No DD or DR endorsements
• Positive attitude and team‑player mentality
• Flexibility to cover alternative shifts when required

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers safely around the yard
• Ensure trailers are positioned correctly for loading and dispatch
• Assist with load strapping and securing when required
• Work closely with the site team to keep operations running efficiently
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations
