Commis Chef

Richmond Village Aston-on-Trent is looking for a talented Cook to join the team.

Shifts: 40 or 48 hours per week over 4 days (4 x 10 or 4 x 12 hour shifts) on a rota basis with occasional late nights for events & alternate weekends.

Open to new ideas, you will have an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, always adhering to high standards and remaining calm during a busy service. You will work collaboratively with others to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.
• Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Help with stock rotation and storage.
• Learn and develop culinary techniques under guidance from senior chefs.
• Respond to residents’ and customers’ dietary needs and personal preferences.
• Maintain an innovative, organised, and calm approach during high‑pressure situations.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent dining experiences.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working in busy, quality kitchens with a passion for delivering high standards across a variety of cuisines.
• Expectations of organisational skills, innovation, and calmness in a busy environment.
• Will comply with a DBS check as part of the recruitment process (cost covered by Bupa).
