Bereavement Service Adviser
Grade 4, £31,611 – £33,987 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment to deliver a responsive service within strict deadlines.
- Process statutory records accurately using the specialist Epilog Sequel database system.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, correspondence and data entry.
- Provide coverage for other posts; participate in working parties to improve the service.
- Undertake overtime and provide phone cover between 08.30 and 17.00.
- Maintain accurate internal and statutory record keeping and cash handling.
Qualifications & Experience
- Record of achievement in front‑line service delivery in a sensitive environment.
- Experience with accurate internal and statutory record keeping and cash handling.
- Proficiency with IT and operating systems including databases, word processing and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of cemetery and crematorium administration and legislative framework (desirable).
- Proven track record of delivering high‑quality customer service.
- Holding a class of Customer Service Award or equivalent qualification (desirable).
- Prepared to work towards an ICCM Transfer of Ownership or equivalent qualification.
- Professional appearance and ability to adapt working hours to meet job requirements.
Background Check
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check may be required if the role involves working with protected groups.
