****This role will require you to be in Southampton 2 days a month****Data Science Manager, Leadership, Leading Data Science, Retail, Python, SQL, Roadmaps, Cloud Analytics, Southampton area.You will be leading a Data Science team to deliver machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that improve customer insight, drive commercial decision‑making and enable personalisation across a retail organisation.You will be able to challenge approaches, raise standards, coach technical talent and influence senior stakeholders across Customer, Digital, CRM, Loyalty, Retail Media, Finance, and Technology.Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing Data Science team.Own and deliver the Data Science roadmap, prioritising work based on business value.Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, including churn, customer lifetime value, forecasting, segmentation and recommendation.Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, governed and production‑ready.Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate commercial challenges into data‑driven solutions.Drive best practice in data science, model governance and technical delivery.Deliver measurable business value through the effective use of data science.Skills & Experience:
Proven experience leading Data Science teams in a commercial environment.Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, Python and SQL.Experience developing and deploying predictive models using customer and commercial data.Experience with cloud analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery).Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.Commercially focused with the ability to prioritise and deliver high‑impact outcomes.
