The size and diversity of our fleet mean you’ll have the opportunity to develop and expand your mechanical skills — help repair and maintain light vans, tractor and trailer units and our growing alternative fuel fleet. If you’re a car mechanic, we’ll offer training so you can learn how to repair HGVs, too.nnn What you’ll don nn Carry out repairs and maintenance across a large fleet, including  Mercedes, Iveco, and VW Crafter vehicles nn Work on both  light commercial vehicles and HGVs (LGVs)nn Perform regular maintenance inspections, complete online service records, and manage stock control nn Support fleet reliability by ensuring all vehicles are maintained to a high standard nn Handle a variety of mechanical tasks, including more complex and non-standard repairs nn Work collaboratively as part of a team, while also being confident working independently nn Follow flexible weekday shift patterns (early and late shifts)nnn What you’ll needn nn NVQ Level 3 , or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics nn Proven experience working with  commercial vehicles, including LGVs/HGVs nn Strong mechanical knowledge (fleet experience highly desirable)nn Basic computer literacy (for records and systems)nn Ability to work on your own initiative and manage priorities effectively nn A  full UK driving licence (held for at least 2 years)nn LGV Class 1 licence – advantageous but not essential nn Air conditioning (Air Tech) certification – desirable (training can be provided)nn A flexible, friendly, and proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills nnn What you’ll getn nn £39,000 basic salary + shift premium (£4.61 per hour between 8pm–6am )nn Overtime opportunities and additional shift allowances nn Company pension scheme & life assurance nn Full, industry-leading training , including Electric Vehicle and Air Conditioning (Air Tech) training nn HGV Licence Upgrade Programme and forklift training opportunities nn Tool allowance (£30 per month) and full PPE provided nn Clean, modern working environment nn Holiday pay nn Access to discounts at major retailers, cinemas, and attractions nn Strong internal progression opportunities with a  promotion-from-within culture nn Employee referral scheme – £1,000 bonus per successful referral nnnn n How we recruit:n UPS is committed to a policy of treating individuals fairly and recruiting, selecting, training, promoting and compensating based on merit, experience and other work-related criteria.
