Purpose of the Role
To optimise the bank’s capital structure to support its growth objectives, manage risk exposure, and comply with regulatory requirements by analysing the bank’s capital position, developing capital allocation strategies, and ensuring that the bank maintains adequate capital levels under various economic scenarios.
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement strategies to manage the bank’s capital position, including setting capital targets, developing capital plans, and monitoring capital adequacy.
- Optimise the bank’s capital structure to support growth and profitability objectives, including management of regulatory capital exposure.
- Allocate capital to business units and projects based on risk‑adjusted returns and other financial metrics.
- Prepare and provide regular reports on capital position, capital allocation decisions, and stress testing results to senior colleagues, risk committees, and regulatory authorities.
- Communicate capital management strategies and risk considerations to relevant stakeholders.

- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures supporting the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work performed.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Capital Markets Execution AVP Role
Play a key role in end‑to‑end execution of funding and regulatory capital transactions, interacting with internal and external stakeholders including investment banks, investors, regulators, lawyers, and senior Treasury colleagues.
Responsibilities include critical execution activities such as trade booking, P&L modelling, and transaction analysis, ensuring high accuracy and control throughout the deal lifecycle.
Contribute to trade design and execution, providing insight to support strategic decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Treasury, Finance or Capital Markets, with an understanding of funding activities, financial instruments and market dynamics.
- Professionally qualified or working towards a recognised qualification such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Highly motivated and self‑driven, with strong interest in financial markets and ability to take ownership in a fast‑paced, market‑facing environment.
- Assessable skills relevant to the role: risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job‑specific technical skills.
- Role is certified under PRA & UK FCA regulations and may require mandatory regulatory qualifications or internal benchmarks.
