We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Eastwood Park, a female prison based in South Gloucestershire. The site is located close to the M5 for commuters and is easily accessible from both Bristol and Gloucester. HMP Eastwood Park houses around 442 patients aged 18-76. This role would suit a General Practitioner who is interested in delivering end‑to‑end care and has a particular interest in either long‑term conditions, sexual health or substance misuse.
Role Overview
As part of a highly staffed multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical leadership and expert advice. This part‑time role requires 4 hours per week on Fridays from 17:00–21:00.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients.
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis.
- Make timely decisions regarding future management.
- Act as a highly specialist resource for other members of the healthcare team.
- Take active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
- Participate in continuous career development and learning opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBChB or MBBS.
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.
