ROLE PURPOSE
The Managing Director (MD) of England Women is accountable to the Chief Executive for the performances of England Women, England Women U19s, and the overall effectiveness and reputation of all international women’s programmes and sub‑departments.
Working closely with the England Women’s Head Coach and Captain, this role sets a clear, unified vision for England Women to consistently succeed on the world stage.
The role provides strategic leadership across performance, culture and operations, specialist coaches, players, and professional counties to build high performing environments.
Through inclusive leadership and collaborative external relationships, the MD of England Women ensures England teams inspire players, fans and communities, and contribute meaningfully to the long‑term health, reputation and impact of the game in England and Wales.
The MD England Women is also a member of the ECB Leadership Group providing strategic leadership, influencing organisational priorities and setting the long‑term vision and day to day strategy for cricket across England and Wales.

- Building a world‑leading department/programme that delivers sustained success in major series/global events to establish England as the benchmark for women’s cricket internationally.
- Leading a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability across England Women’s cricket.
- Ensuring world‑class support structures are in place across coaching, operations, science and medicine, analytics and player welfare.
- Acting as a senior spokesperson and ambassador for women’s cricket and the ECB, with internal and external partners, including media, sponsors, and international bodies.
- Contributing as a member of the ECB’s Leadership Group, shaping organisation‑wide strategy and priorities beyond the immediate remit of the England Women department.
YOU’LL HAVE
- Proven experience of driving success in elite high‑performance cricket/sport, ideally on the international stage.
- Proven senior stakeholder management, relationship‑building and influencing skills.
- Ability to balance short‑term performance demands with long‑term system development.
- A collaborative leadership style that enables the team and stakeholders to work together to deliver high performance and healthy outcomes.
- Experience of how to challenge the status quo to grow sport/drive change despite complexities and barriers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and deliver an inspiring vision.
- Confidence in driving media engagement and public speaking.
