Turner Property Recruitment are delighted to be assisting their client in the search for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join an established MEP team delivering high-quality building services design across a diverse project portfolio.

This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong technical expertise and the ability to lead projects, manage teams and build lasting client relationships.

You will play a key role in delivering projects across sectors including residential, healthcare, education, commercial and regeneration schemes.

The Role

• Lead mechanical design across projects, acting as the technical lead within multidisciplinary teams
• Manage project delivery, ensuring technical quality, programme and commercial performance
• Oversee and review design outputs including calculations, drawings and specifications
• Engage directly with clients, ensuring requirements are understood and delivered
• Carry out QA reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Advise on energy efficiency, sustainability and carbon reduction
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and wider project teams
• Mentor and support junior engineers and apprentices

About You

• Significant experience in mechanical building services design within consultancy or contractor environment
• Strong technical knowledge across building services systems and design standards
• Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
• Experience leading projects and managing teams
• Proficient in design tools such as Revit, IES and Hevacomp
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
