What you’ll be doing
Provide technical leadership and expertise within NS&E, mentoring junior staff.
Organise and manage periodic meetings, prepare technical work plans, and ensure follow‑up of scope‑related activities.
Provide technical review of deliverables within your scope and, where qualified, approve them. Potentially author deliverables in exceptional cases.
Participate in Knowledge Management (KM) within the NS&E Discipline and the EPR‑E KM Programme.
Interface with Project Client Teams on technical discussions or to present feedback, emergent issues and successes.
Inform the NS&E Group Lead of any foreseen risks.
Support the definition of Task Orders (TOs) and the establishment of Workforce Plannings (WFPs) by providing required technical information.
Assist in planning activities for the Group, including required competencies, budget and milestones.
Promote safety and quality culture within the Group alongside the Discipline Manager.
Support day‑to‑day technical delivery of scope‑related activities, balancing safety, quality, maturity, cost and schedule.
Help implement the NS&E Safety Action Plan generated annually by the Discipline Team.
Liaise with relevant Edvance/SNE Teams on common technical topics.
Participate in Edvance‑wide discipline meetings relating to your scope.
Scope‑Specific Activities (Hazards Studies Scope)
Ensure all hazards are adequately mitigated in the design of the NI buildings following approved methodologies and references from RD and clients (HPC & SZC Projects).
Assess risks in the design replication of HPC hazards studies for SZC.
Update HPC hazards methodologies/studies for adoption by SZC.
Provide general hazards guidance and advice on post‑delivery issues to each EPR‑E Building Team.
Implement mitigation measures that account for Internal Flooding hazard requirements in building layouts and system designs.
Profile
Engineer qualified to degree level (preferably in safety studies) or equivalent.
Ability to lead and support a cohort of Engineers.
Knowledge of safety requirement implementation and other safety studies, preferably from a highly regulated industry.
Experience with NNB GenCo’s Nuclear Safety Design Assessment Principles (NSDAPs) and application.
Experience in UK EPR systems, electrical and layout engineering.
Knowledge of and ability to navigate PDMS and Navisworks software.
Conscientious, enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Language requirement: French (bonus).
