Consultant Psychiatrist

Overview

Part‑time Consultant Psychiatrist (approx. 16 hours per week, two days per week including Thursdays, with flexibility on the other day). Up to 20% of the role can be performed from home for administrative or continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite.
• Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service.
• Lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision.
• Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications

• Registered professional with current GMC registration.
• Specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
• Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
• Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge in adult psychiatry and personality disorder (PD).
• Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation.

Support & Development

Access a team of over 20 experienced Consultant psychiatrists. Attend monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision. Receive bespoke induction, including an Introducing Health in Justice training course and a competency framework.

Employment Terms

Annual salary up to £190,000 per annum (FTE, depending on experience). Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
