Overview

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development, design, and coordination of engineering project services.
• Assist Directors with business strategy and management.
• Conduct cost and profit diagnosis, including feasibility studies and project fee proposals.
• Work closely with clients and project teams to establish project requirements.
• Review project status reports and adjust schedules or plans as necessary; prepare reports for management and clients.
• Specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
• Survey, test, and report on existing electrical/mechanical installations.
• Manage fiscal and commercial aspects to achieve target margins.
• Oversee construction and installation monitoring.
• Liaise with current clients to maintain long‑term relationships and identify future projects.
• Engage prospective clients and support business development.
• Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
• Perform engineering calculations to guarantee compliance with robust industry and legal standards.
• Contribute to local office management alongside senior management.
• Support tendering and procurement of MEP contractors and equipment.
• Lead coordination of engineering services and deliver concept and detailed designs.
• Maintain risk and performance monitoring through effective internal controls.
• Mentor and develop junior engineering team members.
• Produce technical white papers to promote RED’s capabilities.
• Participate in the sector management team.
• Create surveys and due diligence reports for existing data centres.
• Present technical papers at industry events.
• Take a holistic view in selecting and applying engineering concepts and solutions.
• Support project delivery from management, financial, QA/QC, and technical review perspectives.

Role Requirements

• BSc/BEng in an appropriate engineering discipline (e.g., Building Services) or equivalent experience.
• MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC with relevant experience.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Significant experience in specification design across various building types.
• Experience managing projects abroad (desirable).
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and key issues.
• Appreciation and knowledge of contract and business law.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize workload.
• Strong presentation, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Chairing/facilitation of meetings.
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
• Understanding of international operations of a global consultancy.
