Overview

Legal Director in EMEA covering all aspects of EMEA legal work, with a primary focus on commercial matters, including corporate administration and compliance elements.

Description

  • Provide legal support to our Sales teams to enable them to conclude licensing, services and other commercial contracts, including conducting negotiations with customers and their legal advisors.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate closely with other members of the Legal, Sales, HR, Procurement and Marketing teams, and manage outside counsel, to drive desired outcomes.
  • Occasional support to the HR team across the EMEA region with policies, hiring processes, disputes, legislative changes etc. with assistance from outside counsel – no previous experience of this is necessary.
  • Handle corporate administration matters with assistance from outside counsel.
  • Assist in handling disputes, litigation, and questions relating to intellectual property and IT ownership.
  • Partner with, and manage our obligations to, our distributors and other ecosystem partners.
  • Manage employee processes to ensure compliance with our code of business conduct and related policies, and provide training to staff on best practice in compliance matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and globally to anticipate and assess emerging legal risk areas across the company, resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare reports for our executive management team, board and board committees regarding contract escalations and the operation and status of our compliance programs.
  • Handle other legal matters as needed to help our EMEA business achieve its desired outcomes.

Profile

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • Be a solicitor or EU qualified lawyer (6+ years qualified).
  • Proven experience in handling commercial contracts and legal matters.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
