Plain Clothed Security Personnel (Store Detective) – Full Time

Job Overview

Observe and apprehend persons behaving in a dishonest manner within the agreed legal and safety limits. Liaise with local authorities and crime prevention partners to keep up to date with crime trends in the area. Be part of a team where safety is our priority and collaboration drives our success.

Responsibilities

• Observe premises and identify suspicious or potentially criminal activity.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents within the scope of the role’s legal and safety limits.
• Document and report incidents in detail, following company procedures.
• Collaborate with local authorities and partners to share information and update crime prevention strategies.
• Maintain a professional and discreet presence, respecting customer privacy and company standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Complete 5‑year checkable employment and education history.
• Valid UK driving licence, with mileage reimbursement available (45p per mile up to 5,000 miles, 25p thereafter).
• Preferred: Valid SIA SG, DS, or CP licence (training available).
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal – adaptable to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving service environment and use technology effectively.
• High attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a team‑player attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay rate: £15.45 per hour.
