Overview

As Course Manager for A Level Politics and A Level Business, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional curriculum that combines academic excellence with real‑world insight. Using your subject expertise and awareness of current affairs, you will inspire students to explore political ideas, business decisions and economic challenges beyond the textbook, making learning relevant, engaging and impactful.

Responsibilities

  • Lead outstanding teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring high levels of achievement, progression and value added.
  • Oversee course quality, monitor learner progress and assessment, coordinate curriculum resources and support enrichment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve the student experience.
  • Lead course reviews, contribute to curriculum development and ensure programmes meet awarding body and college standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering A Level Politics and/or A Level Business.
  • A strong track record of engaging learners and achieving excellent outcomes.
  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • A passion for bringing subjects to life through relevant, real‑world learning.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to motivate students and create a positive learning environment.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with high expectations of yourself and your learners.

Salary and Hours

Annual Salary: £25,107 up to £32,365. Part‑time position, 30 hours per week, all year round.

35 days holiday FTE (plus Christmas closure & bank holidays). Generous pension scheme of 28.68% employer contributions.
