Programmatic advertising plays a major part in realising success across the News UK digital portfolio. The Programmatic & Revenue Operations team is at the heart of this. As the ad technology experts, we use our knowledge of these systems and the enormous amounts of data generated to deliver true innovation and world class solutions with the goal of maximising revenue potential.
Your Role
As the Head of Programmatic Analysis, you will champion the data strategy for our programmatic revenue and commercial product teams, directly leading and mentoring a talented group of three Data Analysts. In this impactful role reporting to the Director of Programmatic & Revenue Operations, you will oversee high-quality insights that maximise revenue and optimise product performance across our digital ecosystem. It is an exciting opportunity to shape data solutions and drive strategic growth for some of the UK’s most iconic media brands.
Day to day responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Data Analysts, balancing workloads across product and business priorities to ensure key objectives are met.
Oversee the execution of yield optimisation strategies, guiding the team to maximise revenue through the ad technology stack.
Drive the proactive formulation of revenue and yield‑boosting opportunities by analysing programmatic, audience, and inventory performance data.
Spearhead the enhancement of programmatic analysis tools and capabilities to build scalable data solutions.
Translate complex technical and statistical data into actionable strategic insights for senior business and product stakeholders.
What we’re looking for from you
A leadership background in mentoring or managing a team of data analysts while successfully balancing cross‑departmental requests.
Deep understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem and digital inventory management.
Technical proficiency in data manipulation tools such as SQL (e.g., BigQuery, MySQL) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker Studio), with Python skills being a distinct advantage.
Hands‑on experience working with large‑scale datasets to extract precise, detailed market insights.
Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel for complex data modelling and reporting.
An educational background in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
Exceptional communication skills demonstrated by the ability to translate complex statistical data into clear, actionable business strategies for non‑technical stakeholders.
A proactive approach to project ownership, with a proven ability to independently drive high‑performance team initiatives and foster collaboration.

Work Environment
