Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well‑motivated pharmacist to manage and develop a high‑quality pharmacy service to patients within the Trust’s Respiratory Services. The successful candidate will be embedded within the respiratory team and will take a lead on specialist clinical pharmacy services, ensuring that an optimal, safe, and efficient clinical service is delivered with all aspects of medicines safety and governance requirements in place.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality pharmaceutical services to the respiratory team and contribute to core ward commitments, including weekend and on‑call services.
- Line‑manage and provide ongoing supervision for rotational pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and undergraduate students.
- Monitor prescribing patterns and medicine expenditure on the respiratory ward, identify outlying spend and develop cost‑improvement programmes related to medicines used within specialist clinical areas.
- Work closely with the high‑cost drugs team and support the Trust’s TB team.
Qualifications
- Experienced pharmacist with significant previous experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work with and influence staff at many levels internally and externally.
- Drive, enthusiasm and commitment to providing outstanding pharmacy services.
