Job Description
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the International Transport Planner will be responsible for coordinating and optimising daily international transport movements.Key responsibilities include:
Planning and coordinating collections and deliveries across the UK and EuropeAllocating work to a network of owner drivers and subcontractorsMaximising vehicle utilisation and minimising empty runningMonitoring delivery schedules and proactively resolving operational issuesBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with transport partnersEnsuring all transport activities are commercially viable and cost-efficientSupporting revenue growth through effective freight forwarding opportunitiesMaintaining accurate operational data, pricing structures and system updatesHandling invoice queries and supporting KPI reportingThe Successful Applicant
The successful International Transport Planner candidate will have:
Experience within road freight operations or transport planningStrong understanding of UK and European transport networksExcellent organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and stakeholder management capabilitiesCommercial awareness with a focus on cost control and profitabilityDesired
Experience planning European road freight movementsExposure to owner driver and subcontractor networksKnowledge of key European markets (e.g. Benelux, France, Italy)Understanding of freight forwarding and margin managementWhat’s on Offer
