- Previousexperience of planning and developing intervention to support reluctantlearners
- Astrong desire to ensure young people, who have often had very negativeexperiences of education in the past, develop their skills and knowledge to thevery best of their ability.
- Abilityto provide specialist support in ensuring that pupils are able to engage bothin the classroom and across the wider school community.
- Previousexperience of working with young people of school age who may present withchallenging behaviour and complex SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)needs, preferably within an educational setting
- Anurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management
- Thephysical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs,taking a non-judgemental approach.
- Knowledgeand experience to support staff in developing excellent classroom practice thatfosters positive behaviour for learning
- Theability to support teaching and learning within an SEMH setting to a dedicatedgroup of students.
- Understanding,and experience, of developing, and implementing, individual behaviour supportplans & positive strategies.
- Theability to model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out ofschool and to cater for the general welfare of students.
- Theability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed.
- Willingnessto participate in own professional development
