About the Role

As a Cook, you will support the health and wellbeing of service residents by preparing nutritious, well‑presented meals each day. You will follow agreed menus, maintain food safety and hygiene standards, and help ensure the kitchen runs safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals and snacks in line with planned menus.
  • Support special diets and individual preferences.
  • Handle food safely in accordance with food hygiene standards.
  • Keep kitchen areas clean, safe and organised.
  • Prepare home baking where required.
  • Assist with stock checks and food ordering.
  • Complete kitchen records, temperature checks and safety documentation.
  • Work in line with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Reliable and able to manage time effectively within a practical role.
  • Comfortable following food safety guidance and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Elementary Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one through training.
  • Basic IT skills for mandatory training.
  • Member of the PVG Scheme or willing to join.
  • Registered with the SSSC (or willingness to meet registration standards).
  • Ability to work within a Christian ethos; commitment to Christian faith required.
  • Valid permission to work in the UK.
