Job Description

Position: Fabrication Welder

Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Contract: 12‑week temporary-to-permanent

Pay: £18–£20 per hour (DOE)

Hours: 7:00‑4:30 pm Monday–Thursday; 7:00‑12:00 pm Friday (30 min unpaid lunch)

Immediate start available.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG welding on a range of fabrication projects
• Perform butt and fillet welds to a high standard
• Work with mild steel and stainless steel materials
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings
• Fabricate and assemble general steelwork and vessels
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a fabrication welder
• Proficient in MIG butt and fillet welding
• Strong background in general steelwork fabrication; experience with vessels highly desirable
• Competent in welding both mild steel and stainless steel
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and quality‑focused
