Customer Service Technician

We are looking for a Customer Service Technician to join our Places Developments team in Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional experience in their new homes by resolving defects efficiently and professionally while maintaining the highest standards of customer care.

Location

Field based across Edinburgh & Lothians (with occasional travel across Scotland).

More About Your Role

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of remedial works within occupied properties across our developments. Working closely with our Customer Service team, you’ll ensure customer-reported defects are resolved promptly, professionally, and to a high standard.

You’ll visit customers in their homes, diagnose issues, complete repairs, and provide clear updates to the Customer Service team. You’ll take ownership of jobs from start to finish, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to customers.

More About You

To be eligible for an interview for this role you must have experience of working in a Multi Skilled Trade or Technician role within Occupied homes within the property industry and hold a current clean UK driving licence.

  • You’re a skilled multi-trader with experience working in occupied homes.
  • You’re organised, adaptable, and confident working independently.
  • You take a proactive approach to problem‑solving and have a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Your skills include general making good, decorating, plastering, drylining, basic carpentry, and ideally some basic plumbing.
  • You’re comfortable using Microsoft Office and customer service software, and you communicate clearly and professionally, building rapport with customers.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience working safely within occupied properties.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
  • The ability to accurately complete job records and paperwork.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to travel across developments as required.
