Repairs Surveyor

Location: West London


Rate: £27.40 per hour (PAYE)


Contract Type: Temporary

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Repairs Surveyor to join a respected local authority in West London on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor with a strong social housing background to take ownership of repairs cases, ensuring properties are maintained to high standards while delivering a first-class service to residents.

The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out inspections, diagnosing defects, preparing schedules of works, and overseeing contractors across a varied housing stock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake inspections of housing stock, diagnosing defects and specifying remedial works.

  • Prepare schedules of work and detailed technical reports.

  • Manage a caseload of responsive repair cases, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Oversee contractors and operatives, monitoring quality and compliance.

  • Provide expert advice on building pathology, damp & mould, and general repairs.

  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication.

  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, building regulations, and health & safety standards.

  • Support the housing team with disrepair cases as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Repairs Surveyor within social housing – essential.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, defects diagnosis, and repair solutions.

  • Experience preparing schedules of work and managing contractors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of housing legislation, compliance, and disrepair processes.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
