Rate: £27.40 per hour (PAYE)

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Repairs Surveyor to join a respected local authority in West London on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor with a strong social housing background to take ownership of repairs cases, ensuring properties are maintained to high standards while delivering a first-class service to residents.
The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out inspections, diagnosing defects, preparing schedules of works, and overseeing contractors across a varied housing stock.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake inspections of housing stock, diagnosing defects and specifying remedial works.
Prepare schedules of work and detailed technical reports.
Manage a caseload of responsive repair cases, ensuring timely resolution.
Oversee contractors and operatives, monitoring quality and compliance.
Provide expert advice on building pathology, damp & mould, and general repairs.
Liaise with residents, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication.
Ensure compliance with housing legislation, building regulations, and health & safety standards.
Support the housing team with disrepair cases as required.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Repairs Surveyor within social housing – essential.
Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, defects diagnosis, and repair solutions.
Experience preparing schedules of work and managing contractors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of housing legislation, compliance, and disrepair processes.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
