An established manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team at its site in the EH41 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer looking for a stable days-based role within a well‑established production environment.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installation work across a range of production and processing equipment. Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you will help ensure machinery reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Carry out equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Assist with breakdown response and root cause analysis.
- Ensure maintenance records are completed accurately.
- Work in accordance with health and safety procedures at all times.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair skills.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
