Job Description:

The HR Assistant administrative and coordination support to the HR Business Partner (HRBP). This role will be a fixed term contract and is instrumental in ensuring smooth onboarding, compliance, and HR operations, supporting the development of a positive and efficient workplace culture from day one.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the HRBP in delivering the HR plan and timelines.
  • Coordinate recruitment administration including interview scheduling, offer letters, and onboarding documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of induction programs for new starters.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies.
  • Support the implementation of HR systems and processes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees.
  • Coordinate training schedules and maintain training records.
  • Assist with payroll administration and timekeeping data entry.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by the HRBP.

Skills & Experience

  • Solid HR Background: Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within logistics, warehousing, or a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Process-Oriented: Strong understanding of core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Effective Communicator: Confident in engaging with employees and managers at all levels, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Support: Experience supporting HR initiatives such as new site openings, restructures, or high-volume onboarding.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Good working knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies, and GDPR requirements.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HRIS systems for data management and reporting.
  • Organised & Detail-Focused: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: Approachable, proactive, and collaborative, with a positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Professional Development: CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards; commitment to ongoing learning and development.
